Adore...

This week in Paris was COUTURE 2012 Fashion Week.  As the pictures grace the net and most of all from {style.com} my heart goes pitter patter at all the amazing clothes.  There is a 'je ne sais quoi' about everything that walks down a runway in Paris and more importantly the clothes, le sigh.

I find there is always confusion about what 'haute couture' really means and frankly I think the word is OVER used.  Here is a great definintion I found online so you to can be informed.

Haute couture (French for "high sewing" or "high dressmaking"; refers to the creation of exclusive custom-fitted clothing. Haute couture is made to order for a specific customer, and it is usually made from high-quality, expensive fabric and sewn with extreme attention to detail and finished by the most experienced and capable seamstresses, often using time-consuming, hand-executed techniques. Couture is a common abbreviation of haute couture and refers to the same thing in spirit.

Hope that gives you a better idea of why this fashion week is sooo amazing.

Here are some of my favourite looks from collections I adored.  And as a treat enjoy the videos of all the shows so you can view the entire collection! :)

Armani Prive 2012
* lots of greens, metallic, draping, and sheer materials.  The whole collection had this hard but feminine vibe.  You could tell it was serpentine inspired very 'exotic'.

Chanel 2012
Oh Uncle Karl, how you can do no wrong!
* a collection of blue hues, stark black/white outfits, mostly dropped waist and boat necklines.
The second dress the giraffe print is my favourite!!!

Giambattista Valli 2012
* lots of bows, feminine lines, lots of black/white combos, pops of fuschia, red and pink.  A very 'glamorous' collection.

Elie Saab 2012
If you have been reading FimC for a bit now you know I have a love affair with this designer.  And this collection was no exception.
* flirty, feminine. Pastels beyond the imagination.  Clean, elegant, they look light and airy but can you imagine the weight with that beading detail.  Beautiful.
